Love Does: a deeper look at the Ten Commandments

Each week starting Sept. 6 our worship and discussion groups will focus on how the commandments teach us to love one another. We often think of the commandments as a list of “do nots,” but when Martin Luther wrote his teaching, he framed them as a list of what love calls us to do. Pick up a booklet today and join us next weekend to discover what Love Does.

September Monthly Luncheon - The monthly luncheon hosted by our Sr. Adults will have a good ol' time on Sept. 10 at 12 noon when they welcome back our friends Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchman!  Becky and her accordion bring a lively mix of polka, country and comedy backed up by her husband, the Dutchman, on banjo.  The cost for lunch & the show is just $5 which you can pay online or at-the-door. Boot & Coat Drive — Cooler days are coming! We are preparing to help our SEMP guests stay warm this winter with our annual Boot & Coat Drive.  Boots or Coats in good condition – or funds for us to acquire them – can be dropped off at the church office. 

CROP Hunger Walk 2026 – Each year the CROP walk raises funds and awareness to fight the epidemic of hunger locally and globally. This year the event will be held on Oct. 11, starting at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas Park in Marion. You can take action today by joining or sponsoring our walking team at visiting firstlutherancr.org/CROP
